After living in West Roxbury for over forty years, our client like many other people, felt it was time for a change. Now on her own with the kids having left the nest years before it was time to downsize and move on. The townhouse in Scituate was the perfect place to start a new life chapter. However, she didn’t want to “get rid” of everything. The new guest bedroom had fewer windows than the living room in West Roxbury but there was plenty of fabric to give it a new life. So we narrowed the width of the draperies to let more light into the room and used the extra fabric to create a beautifully tailored ruffled bed skirt and new pillow shams. We updated the drapery hardware with a warm mahogany wood pole and rings. We did away with the pleated shades and added handsome wood blinds. Having two blinds on one head rail allows one blind to be open while the other can be closed on the same large window.
